Sri Krishnan Kartha

Founder Director, Madhuvan Sai Vidyashram Institutions

​Mr.Kartha is a lawyer in the High Court of Kerala besides being an academician and and a social activist.

He started career as a journalist in 1987, at the age of 22, with bylined political stories in Busybee's "Afternoon Despatch & Courier" a Bombay based tabloid. Krishnan Kartha was also  contributing to the "Commerce Weekly" until its conversion into "Business & Political Observer" daily. He worked as the Trivandrum  correspondent for INFA, India's foremost feature syndicate, New Delhi, then headed by Inder Jit, veteran parliamentarian and journalist. His tryst with the visual media had begun in 1986 when he composed a programme of fusion music with his sitar for the national network of Doordarshan. He gave Hindusthani music lessons on sitar to a selected few. At the age of 23, he started film making with his debut feature film in Hindi "AMSHINI" starred by Seema Biswas. The film participated in two international film festivals. He also did documentaries and telefilms.

His connection with Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba changed his life. Baba granted him 49 personal audience from the year 1989. Motivated by Baba's guidance and instructions, Kartha founded the Madhuvanam Fraternity in the year 1989. He received instructions from his Guru on “educare” in 1991 and he spent time in exploring child development theories of Froebel to Bandura till he finally embarked on starting a school at Madhuvanam. Meanwhile, a Montessori school was opened for rural children in 2000.

  

He is currently the Managing Trustee of Madhuvan Sai Vidyashram Trust.
